BMW Reveals R20 Concept, Boxer Engine With Retro Style
JAKARTA - BMW Motorrad, a two-wheeled vehicle manufacturer from Germany, has revealed the latest R20 concept motorcycle with an exotic design and a large boxer engine that stole the show.
"The R20 concept is a mechanical masterpiece, with Big Boxer at its center highlighting this is a motor from BMW Motorrad," said Head of BMW Motorrad Markus Flasch, quoted from the brand's official website, Monday, May 27.
Carrying a typical style in the 1970s, this concept has a revolutionary aluminum tank design combined with a burning red pattern.
The front has an LED light in the form of an aluminum retro-style circle and has been integrated with DRL. Meanwhile, on the back, it has been connected to a single seat covered with black altara and smooth skin.
The design combines modern technical elements with classic roadster designs. Its large proportion and minimalist aesthetics make it an undoubted character," said BMW Design Head of BMW Alexander Buckan.
This motorbike uses a 17-inch black disk rim with a 200/55 tire on the back and 120/70 tires on the front. For control, the manufacturer embeds the Ohlins Blackline suspension which can be fully tuned in front and rear.
The braking was installed radially from the ISR handling the deeleration with six pistons up front and four pistons behind it.

The main highlight on other motorbikes is a large oil-cooled boxer engine that has a capacity of up to 2,000 cc. BMW claims this bike has a distinctive engine sound thanks to an exhaust pipe with a megaphone design.
Unfortunately, the manufacturer is still silent about the power of the horse. However, it is estimated that this motorbike can pump up about 100 dk of power and torque 160 Nm.
BMW also has not disclosed its plans to produce R20 Concept. Currently, the company owns R Nine T as its flagship boxer motorcycle which is sold in the global market.
