PURWOKERTO - The Banyumas City Police Criminal Investigation Unit revealed a case of abuse by two people that resulted in the death of one person in Banyumas Regency, Central Java.Banyumas Police Chief Kombes Edy Suranta Sitepu said the abuse case was successfully revealed thanks to public reports."The time of the incident was on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at around 15.45 WIB in Kaliori Village RT 04 RW 04, Kalibagor District, Banyumas Regency," said Edy at a press conference at the Banyumas Police Reconfuge Hall, Antara, Wednesday, May 22.Based on the report, the police conducted an investigation at the scene by asking for statements from a number of witnesses and processing the crime scene (TKP) to collect evidence.From the results of the crime scene and witness testimony, the victim was identified as Hendhi Purba (42), a resident of Kaliori Village RT 04 RW 04, who worked as a driver.In addition, the police also received information from witnesses regarding the identities of the two perpetrators of the persecution, each known to have the initials AD (41), a resident of Sokaraja Kidul Village, Sokaraja District, Banyumas, and RSS (25), a resident of Kedondong Village, Sokaraja District, Banyumas."After we received information from the witness, then our members pursued the suspect. At around 18.00 to 18.30 WIB, we detected the whereabouts of the perpetrators who were known to be in Banyumas District, so we immediately made arrests," he said.Based on the interrogation of the two perpetrators, it was found that the motive for the persecution began with a dispute related to the problem of tattooing.In this case, the victim's sister made a tattoo with a butterfly on the body of TS, who is the lover of the perpetrator of AD.Because the results were not satisfactory, AD was angry and then called and sent a message via WhatsApp to the victim Hendhi with inappropriate words."Until finally the victim sent a voice note (noise message) back to the AD perpetrator, whose contents asked for a duel. After that, AD and RSS went to the victim's house, but did not find the victim, only met the victim's wife," he said.When he left the victim's house, the two perpetrators saw Hendhi at the crime scene and then the RSS perpetrator immediately stabbed the knife he was carrying towards the victim's right temple.Hendhi immediately chased RSS, but from behind, the AD perpetrator pulled the victim's hand which was holding a knife until finally the two men fell."Furthermore, there was a fight and finally the victim was stabbed. There were four stab wounds on the victim's body, including in the stomach and back, while what caused the death was stabbed in the chest through the lungs, resulting in severe bleeding," he explained.In addition to arresting the perpetrators, the police also secured evidence in the form of cell phones and a number of sharp weapons, one of which was used to stab the victim.After AD and RSS were arrested, the police received information that the two perpetrators often took actions that disturbed the public, such as extortion, abuse, and bullying.According to the Chief of Police, the two perpetrators were also recidivists in cases of persecution in Banyumas and Cilacap.
"We urge the public if they find such acts of thuggery to report to the nearest police so that they can be followed up immediately," he said.He added that the two perpetrators had been named suspects and charged with Article 340 subsidiary Article 338 subsidiary Article 170 Paragraph 2 3 e of the Criminal Code with a threat of 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
