Toyota Signals The Presence Of A Autotransmissioned Glolla GR
JAKARTA - Launched in mid-2022, Toyota GR Corolla managed to attract the attention of automotive observers thanks to its impressive design and performance.
For more than a year showing its existence in the high performance car segment, this hatchback comes with manual transmission that adds to the driver's taste for those driving it. However, will Toyota present it with automatic transmission?
Toyota Gazoo Racing (GR) President Tomoya Takahashi said that his party would be open to this if the market wanted the Glolla GR with automatic transmission.
"If there is a customer request, it might be," Takahashi was quoted as saying by Drive, Wednesday, May 22.
Meanwhile, Toyota Australia's Head of Sales and Marketing Sean Hanley, added that customers are interested in buying high-performance cars with automatic transmission if the model is available on the market.
"Based on GR Supra and GR86 car data representing more than half of the current sales, the data shows that people will be interested in automata if available," added Hanley.

Earlier this year at the Tokyo Auto Salon, this Japanese manufacturer introduced the GR Yaris facelift with automatic transmission for the first time. This car is claimed to perform better with an automatic transmission of eight accelerations developed and combined with a four-wheel drive (4WD).
Although the manufacturer maintains the 1.6 liter turbo engine as before, GR Yaris facelift has an enhanced power from 272 ps to 304 ps and torques from 370 Nm to 400 Nm, thus increasing the excitement of driving. This automatic transmission is also embedded in the Lexus LBX Morizo RR which also carries the same engine as GR Yaris and GR Corolla.
That is, technically the Corolla GR will match the automatic transmission that was successfully developed by the Gazoo Racing division. However, it all depends on the demand from the buyer and the company's decision.
