BADUNG - Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) revealed the development related to 2,086 hectares (ha) of land in the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) which is still problematic.

AHY said that the compensation process was being pursued by the IKN Authority (OIKN).

"OIKN is also working as far as I know. I have met with the Head of OIKN and also the integrated team in the East Kalimantan (Kaltim) region, including around Penajam Paser Utara and Kutai, which is the location for the IKN development., Tuesday, May 21.

According to AHY, land acquisition is not easy. Moreover, he continued, President Jokowi warned the public not to become victims in the land acquisition process at IKN.

"Indeed, we want to accelerate the development of IKN, but no community should be evicted from its roots without a humane approach and of course fair," he said.

He added, when the land acquisition process has been completed, the Ministry of ATR/BPN is ready to accelerate the granting of certificates.

This is to provide clarity on the rights to existing land.

"But when it is clean and clear, ATR/BPN will be very ready to speed up the certificate and provide legal certainty on land rights for anyone, including investors who will enter later," he said.

Previously, ATR/BPN Minister Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) said, there were 2,086 hectares (ha) of land for IKN development which were still problematic.

"We highlight that there are areas of land, especially 2,086 ha which cannot be said to be clear to be used for IKN development. So, there are several locations where there are still people," AHY said after meeting Jokowi at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Wednesday, April 24.

AHY explained, a number of land parcels out of 2,086 ha of the land are priority areas for IKN development.
