JAKARTA - The performance of the Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong, is unquestionable by Menpora Dito Ariotedjo.
He even believes that the tactics applied by the coach can lead the Garuda Squad to qualify for the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.
The Indonesian national team is currently in careful preparation to face the last two matches in the second round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.
Shin Tae-yong's team will host the Gelora Bung Karno (SUGBK) Main Stadium, Jakarta, when facing Iraq (June 6, 2024) and the Philippines (June 11, 2024).
In preparation, the coach has called 22 names of players to strengthen the Indonesian national team. From this list, Dito believes that Shin Tae-yong will formulate slick tactics.

They have been forged to appear in various international events, especially at the Asian level, with strong, diverse opponents who can become additional capital.
"Yesterday we saw the majority of players in the U-23 Indonesian national team also playing later in the 2026 World Cup Qualification match."
"Certainly, it is also a preparation. So, yesterday I communicated with PSSI and the Indonesian national team that the most important thing is that it is confident, maintain consistency. I believe this is developing," said Dito Ariotedjo in his statement quoted on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
"The performance of the Indonesian national team is very good. Yes, optimistic because we will fight Iraq, after that the Philippines. I am optimistic that one of our (match) wins," he said.
The Indonesian national team is clearly in high confidence. They are on the verge of qualifying for the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.
Currently, Shin Tae-yong's team is in second place in Group F in the second round. The result was achieved by the Garuda Squad after packing seven points from four matches.
With that note, Rizky Ridho and his friends only need at least one victory or three more against Iraq and the Philippines.
If that is achieved, they will not only advance to the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, but will also automatically qualify for the 2027 Asian Cup.
