Global EV Kia Sales Rise Rapidly During April 2024, This Model Becomes The Best Selling
JAKARTA - Kia reported its global sales in April of 261,022 units, an increase of 0.6 percent compared to last year's gains. Meanwhile, the acquisition over the first four months was more than 1 million units, down 0.6 percent.
Although the acquisition is relatively standard, Kia's EV sales experienced a significant increase by pocketing 17,140 units last month, up 90 percent rather than before. It said the EV segment accounted for 7 percent of the overall volume.
Reporting from InsideEVs, Tuesday, May 21, the sales included models such as EV3, EV5, EV6. EV9, Niro EV, Niro Plus EV, Soul EV, and special products for South Korea Ray EV and good EV.
Meanwhile, the E-GMP platform-based model accounted for 8,904 units during April but decreased by 6 percent. From that acquisition, Kia EV6 dominated with 5,728 units but decreased 39 percent from last year, followed by EV9 with a total of 1,991 units and EV5 with 1,182 units.

During the first four months, the company from the country of Ginseng received sales of more than 61,000 units for the electric vehicle segment, an increase of about 70 percent from the previous year. Meanwhile, the E-GMP model accounted for 44,614 units, an increase of 23 percent.
During that period, Kia EV6 contributed 29,035 units (down 20 percent), followed by EV9 13,141 units, and EV5 2,433 units.
This has the potential to exceed the overall achievement last year. As an illustration, Kia managed to end 2023 by recording 132,711 E-GMP-based EV sales, up 59 percent.
Kia hopes to maintain EV sales momentum after the launch of EV3 and EV6 facelifts which will be marketed in the second half of this year.
