Harry Kane Struggles To Recover From A Back Injury Ahead Of Euro 2024
JAKARTA - Harry Kane is racing against time to prove his fitness before appearing at Euro 2024. Because he missed Bayern Munich's last game this season due to injury.
Kane joined Bayern in the summer of 2023 and enjoyed a brilliant debut season in the Bundesliga. He scored 44 goals in 45 appearances in all competitions despite not winning trophies.
However, the England captain has not appeared for his club since being replaced in Bayern's defeat in the semi-finals of the Champions League against Real Madrid in early May.
Kane is currently undergoing specialist care after suffering a back injury which ruled him out in the last Bundesliga match 2023/24. The 4-2 defeat to Hoffenheim left Bayern finishing third.
Thomas Tuchel gave an update on the striker's condition ahead of the last game against Hoffenheim. He confirmed that Kane could not train with the squad.
"In Madrid, it was very severe. We tried injections and treatments. His back was completely locked. It got worse and kept recurring in small daily movements. There was no possibility he could even train," said Tuchel.

However, there is hope that Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg revealed that Kane believes he will fit for Euro 2024. Now, the race is really starting for Kane as England manager Gareth Southgate prepares to announce the interim squad for Euro 2024 on Tuesday, May 21.
Kane is still expected to lead England to the tournament this summer, although Aston Villa striker totaling Watkins will be an alternative in performance after scoring 19 goals and 13 assists in the Premier League this season.
Ivan Toney is another center-forward hoping to join the squad, while other attacking stars such as Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, and Cole Palmer will certainly enter after a brilliant campaign at club level.
