French Startup Pasqal Will Install First Quantum Computer In Saudi Arabia
JAKARTA - Paris-based quantum computer start-up Pasqal announced it had signed a partnership with Saudi Arabia's oil company, Aramco, to install the country's first quantum computer.
Pasqal will install, maintain, and operate a quantum computer with 200 quantities scheduled for placement in the second half of 2025.
"Through this partnership, we will be at the forefront of accelerating the commercial adoption of this transformative technology in Saudi Arabia," said CEO and co-founder of Pasqal, Georges-Olivier Reymond.

Previously, Pasqal had sold two quantum computers to France and Germany, and Alain Aspect - one of its founders - won the Nobel Prize for Physics 2022 for experiments in quantum mechanics that laid the groundwork for quantum computing.
Scientists expect a quantum computer one day to be able to make certain calculations millions of times faster than today's fastest supercomputers.
