Jakarta Administrative Court Orders KPK Councils To Postpone Ethics Process, Ghufron: Judge's Order Cannot Be Debated
Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nurul Ghufron assessed that the KPK Supervisory Board should follow the order of the intermediate decision of the Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN) to postpone the ongoing ethical process. There is no reason to debate the judge's decision.
This was conveyed by Ghufron in response to the Jakarta Administrative Court's decision which was uploaded today, Monday, May 20. The Case Investigation Information System (SIPP) said the judge ordered an ethical examination by the KPK Supervisory Board regarding the alleged abuse of authority for assisting the process of transferring employees at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) to be postponed.
"The judge's decision in a state of law is the highest decision," Ghufron told reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, May 20.
With this decision, Ghufron considered the trial of the decision that would be held by the Supervisory Board on Tuesday, May 21. "It cannot be above the judge's decision and then it is debated," he said.
In addition, Ghufron also felt that there was no need to attend the trial if the KPK Council continued to insist. "So I don't need to answer yes or no," said Ghufron.
"The Administrative Court judge ordered to postpone it because it must and should not be continued. That has been the decision from the Administrative Court," he continued.
As previously reported, the Supervisory Board will decide the fate of the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, who is suspected of having committed an ethical violation for assisting the transfer of employees of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) on Tuesday, May 21.
"Tomorrow at 14.00 WIB, the KPK Council's ethical decision," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Monday, May 20.
