Corruption Case, Head Of North Maluku PUPR Service Sentenced To 2 Years 10 Months And A Fine Of IDR 100 Million
TERNATE - The Panel of Corruption Judges at the Ternate District Court (PN) sentenced the former Head of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), North Maluku Daud Ismail in the OTT case of the Governor of North Maluku.Chairman of the Panel of Judges, totaling Fransiskus Tampubolon, said the verdict took into account Article 5 Paragraph (1) letter a of the Republic of Indonesia Law (UU) Number 31 of 1999 concerning the eradication of criminal acts of corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the eradication of criminal acts of corruption in conjunction with Article 64 Paragraph (1) KHUPidana."The trial of the defendant Daud Ismail has been legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption as in the first alternative indictment," said God.in the verdict read while chairing the trial at the local District Court, Antara, Thursday, May 16."The Ternate District Court sentenced the defendant Daud Ismail to 2 years and 10 months in prison and a fine of Rp. 100 million, provided that if the fine was not paid, it would be replaced with imprisonment for 2 months," saidmad.The verdict of the Panel of Judges at the Ternate District Court is lighter than the demands of the KPK prosecutor for the defendant Daud Ismail for 3 years in prison and is subject to a fine of Rp. 100 million, subsidiary to 3 months in prison.In addition, determining that the detention period of the defendant was reduced entirely from the proposed crime and determined that the evidence number 1 to 747 was all used for other cases on behalf of the defendant Kristian Wuisan alias Kian."Also determined that the defendant be charged with a court fee of Rp. 5,000," said the judge.Hearing the verdict, the defendant Daud Ismail through his legal advisor, Fahrudin Maloko stated that he was thinking of filing an appeal."We will take advantage of this next seven days, we will think about it, Your Honor," said Fahrudin.
Meanwhile, the KPK prosecutor also expressed his thoughts on the decision handed down by the Panel of Judges. "We are also thinking about it," said one of the KPK prosecutors.
