Jambi Police Freed Victims Of Robbery Who Had Become Suspects

JAMBI - The Tanjung Jabung Barat Resort Police, Jambi, released a man with the initials FH, a robbery victim who had been named a suspect for killing the robber with the initials E.

"We have coordinated with the West Tanjab Police, the SP3 case has been held, the termination of the investigation process has been stopped," said the Daily Executive of the Head of Public Information for Public Relations of the Jambi Police, KompolM. Amin explained that after the murder case of the robbers was stopped, FH was immediately released.

FH was previously suspected of violating Article 351 Paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code concerning persecution resulted in death. However, from the findings of facts in the field and witness statements, the police finally determined Article 49 of the Criminal Code regarding forced defense.

Until now, FH has not made a report on the burglary case that he and his younger brother experienced on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. The incident occurred in Taman Raja Village, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency at around 22.30 WIB.

Director of Criminal Investigation at the Jambi Police, Kombes Andri Ananta, explained that at that time FH and his younger brother with the initials LH who were riding a motorcycle were stopped by two robbers with the initials E and H. The two robbers asked FH and LH for money.

Because they did not get the money they wanted, perpetrators E and H committed violence against FH and LH. Until perpetrator E had injured FH with a sharp weapon that hit FH's left palm while trying to fend off the attack from the robber.

With his left hand injured, FH hit perpetrator E until he fell. At that time, FH took a knife from his vehicle and stabbed the knife into the stomach of perpetrator E.

As a result, perpetrator E died, while his colleague H had fought back. However, FH was able to stab the knife he was holding into H's left rib.

FH was initially subject to Article 351 Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code concerning persecution that resulted in death.

Based on the statements of the three, namely FH, LH and H as well as evidence and testimony of witnesses and experts, the police finally imposed Article 49 of the Criminal Code regarding the forced defense carried out by FH.
