It's Been 22 Years Without Fixing, Acting Regent Wants To Revitalize Klotok Port In North Penajam Paser

PENAJAM - Pemerintah Kabupaten Penajam Paser Utara (PPU) melaksanakan revitalisasi port pelanggaran kapal klotok di Kecamatan Penajam. Ini merupakan upaya memperindah wajah daerah sebagai pintu kelang menuju Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN).The acting regent of PPU, Makmur Marbun, said that the condition of the port has been without improvement for 22 years, so it looks shabby for the size of public service facilities."We see that the port of klotok and speed boad are inhumane. Even though it is the main gateway for PPU, at least it is built that is more humane. This has been 22 years since PPU Regency has been touched at all like this," Makmur Marbun said in Penajam, Antara, Wednesday, May 15.His party took the initiative to improve infrastructure and transportation connectivity, especially to facilitate efficient and safe travel for speed boat passengers and klotok ships.The jetty, which will be built as an important point for water transportation, serves local residents and tourists.The revitalization of the construction of the Klotok Ship Port and speed boat, said Makmur had entered the groundbreaking stage. Although he admits that there are still many obstacles, he is still optimistic about building a decent transportation infrastructure for Benuo Taka residents."We have started, the problem is a lot. Land is not easy. But we are optimistic about continuing the revitalization," said the Director of Regional Legal Products, Director General of Otda of the Ministry of Home Affairs.On that occasion, Makmur also asked for support from transportation stakeholders, especially from the ranks of the Provincial Government.He hopes that the transportation sector in PPU Regency can get better, especially with the presence of IKN.
"We want to change, we will be fast. Because we are very young districts. Please also help. PPU needs to be considered in order to move forward together," he explained.The construction of the speed boat pier and klotok has begun on March 3, 2024, with a budget allocation of IDR 15 billion.
