Member Of Commission II DPR F-PDIP Asks Money Politics To Be Legalized, KPK: It's A Democracy Gerogoti Disease!

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) does not agree that money politics or money politics will be legalized, as requested by Hugua, who is a member of Commission II of the DPR from the PDIP faction. This practice should be eradicated because it interferes with the course of democracy.

"Money politics, which then became his illness, undermined our democation," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, May 15.

Ali said money politics or giving money to choose does not teach the public a lesson. Because, the leader should be chosen according to his abilities.

In addition, officials who do money politics tend to practice corruption. This is the result of the KPK analysis and study saying so, yes, yes," he said.

"When he takes office, say (must spend money, ed) IDR 30 billion to IDR 50 billion to become regional head when he takes office, later he must return the capital and return this is what triggers him to commit acts of corruption while he has the authority," continued the spokesman with the prosecutor's background.

Hugua proposed the KPU to legalize the practice of money politics or money politics. This was conveyed in a working meeting (raker) of Commission II of the DPR with the KPU, Bawaslu, DKPP, and the Ministry of Home Affairs in the DPR building. "Don't we think money politics is legalized in PKPU with certain limitations? Because money politics is a necessity, (without, red) money politics, no one chooses, no one chooses in the community because the atmosphere is different," said Hugua when delivering his proposal.

Hugua said that the political contestation of money is detrimental, especially for those who do not have capital. So, instead of being carried out in a hidden manner, it should be legalized but the amount is regulated.

"So we should just legalize it with certain boundaries. We legalize a maximum of Rp. 20,000 or Rp. 50,000 or Rp. 1 million or Rp. 5 million," he concluded.
