Google Will Launch Three Latest Gemini Features In Gmail

JAKARTA At the I/O 2024 event on May 14, Google announced that the Gmail version of Android and iOS will get three of the latest features powered by Gemini. These three features will be available in the near future. The presence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) features on mobile phones is of great interest. Google also found the fact that the use of AI-based auxiliary features is much higher on mobile because these devices are more convenient to use at any time and anywhere. Therefore, they bring more Gemini features to the mobile app version of Gmail. There are three features that Gmail users will see, namely the Tanya Answer feature, the Improved Smart Reply, and Summary. Question answers can be used to summarize email content, but could also be more than that. When clicking Gemini's icon in the upper right corner, users can include various desired commands, including asking for suggestions to reply to email. The Tanya Answer feature can indeed summarize, but with different contexts. If users want to summarize such a long email content in a straightforward way, they can use a more specific feature, namely This Email Summary. The button to use this feature will be seen at the bottom of the subject line. Gmail users could use this summary feature if they subscribe to Workspace Labs, Google One AI Premium, or Gemini for Workspace.

Finally, Gmail users will gain access to the Smart Reply feature. This feature is the latest version of Smart Compose introduced in 2017, but its capabilities are much better because it is better at understanding context. Smart replies will appear in the form of a payload chip when Gmail users want to reply to emails. This feature will be launched for Workspace Labs users in July. The estimated launch time is also the same as the Tanya Answer feature.
