North Maluku Police Arrest 4 Fish Bombers
TERNATE - The Directorate of Polairud of the North Maluku Regional Police (Polda) arrested four suspected fish bomb bombers who are still being held in the detention cell of the South Ternate Police Headquarters.
Deputy Director of Polairud Polda North Maluku, AKBP Eddy Junaidi said the four residents of South Halmahera were still being held for investigation.
"The four perpetrators were arrested on April 24, 2024 and four of them were Maswin Abdi, Jihar Senen, Senen Tuesday, and Ocen Senen," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 15.
The perpetrator was arrested when members carried out patrols using the KP XXX-2023 ship in the waters of South Halmahera.
Eddy revealed that his party will continue to carry out routine patrols in the waters in the area preventing the use of fish bombs by fishermen who can damage the sea.
"We are not playing with perpetrators of destructive fishing or fishing using bombs in the North Maluku waters, therefore officers continue to carry out routine patrols," he said.

According to him, based on reports, there are still cats that use fish bombs in catching fish in several areas in North Maluku.
"We received reports in several water areas in North Maluku, it is suspected that there are still bombing activities and will be dealt with in the near future," he said.
