RADWIMPS Vocalist Confesses About Concert Ticket Sales In Jakarta
JAKARTA - Yojiro Noda, vocalist of RADWIMPS, poured his thoughts ahead of their concert in Jakarta on May 19. He made a confession on Twitter that surprised fans quite a bit.
On May 11, Yojiro started to get restless because a few days before the concert, the ticket that was sold turned out to be a bit far from expectations. He seemed confused about why the shows in Jakarta were a bit empty of fans, while in almost all other countries tickets were sold out.
"Jakarta! Okay, I will make a confession. Despite the expiration of tickets in other cities, sales in Jakarta are not very good. Even less than 1/3 of our concert capacity last year," Yojiro tweeted.
But as a musician, he still wants to give the best wishes. He claims that their tour this time will be more lively with improvements in various aspects than last year.
"We don't understand what caused this situation to happen, but we are ready to have fun with you like in other cities, and this concert will be cooler than last year," he added.

Concerts in Jakarta did experience changes in venues, from Beach City International Stadium to JCC. The previous venue (BCIS) is suspected of being one of the reasons fans are reluctant to buy tickets.
In addition, there are several other factors that are suspected to be the cause of the lack of ticket sales, such as too many shows in the near future, ticket prices that are considered less affordable, to the event organizers.

At least by moving the venue to an easily accessible area, fans hope that there will be a significant increase in the number of spectators.
"I don't know why it's like this, sorry Yojiro-san. I'll come to watch RADWIMPS, and it's not your fault. Proper Indonesia is still very excited to welcome you," wrote the account @I**ka**t.
