BPBD: Heavy Rain Causes 14 Villages In West Aceh To Be Submerged By Floods
The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Aceh Regency noted that 14 villages spread across four sub-districts were flooded with water levels ranging from 20 to 30 centimeters due to heavy rains.
"The cause of the flood that submerged these 14 villages was due to the overflowing of the river after heavy rains in this area," said Acting Head of BPBD West Aceh Regency, Jamal Mirda, accompanied by the Head of the Emergency District, Teuku Ronaldilansir ANTARA, Monday, May 13.
Villages that were flooded in West Aceh Regency include seven villages in Woyla Barat District covering Napai Village, Blang Cot Mameh Village, Ie Itam Baroh Village, Aue Leuhob Village, Pasie Malee Village, Lhok Malee Village, and Blang Luah Village.
Floods also submerged three villages in Woyla Induk District, namely Suak Trieng Village, Cot Lagan Village, and Cot Murong Village.
Floods also submerged three villages in Woyla Timur District covering Blang Lhung Village, Alue Siralen, Tuwie Empeuk Village, and Alue Lhok Village, Bubon District.
Jamal Mirda said the flood caused community activities in 14 villages spread across four sub-districts in West Aceh Regency to be disrupted throughout the day.

This natural disaster occurred due to heavy rainfall that has occurred over the past few days, causing the river to overflow and impact on residential and community activities.
He said that so far there have been no reports of casualties in the people of West Aceh Regency, due to flooding in the area.
The West Aceh BPBD continues to alert officers to monitor and handle residents affected by the disaster.
