Aismoli: Groundbreaking Yadea Factory In Karawang Good Signal For The Molis Market

The Electric Motor Industry Association (Aismoli) views that the groundbreaking of an electric motorcycle factory by PT Yadea Teknologi Indonesia in Karawang, West Java, will be a breath of fresh air for the electric motorcycle market in the country.

This was revealed by the General Chairperson of Aismoli Budi Setiyadi when met by reporters at the groundbreaking of the Yadea factory in the Surya Semesta Internusa area, Karawang Regency, West Java, Monday, May 13.

"If I look at Yadea's (goraundbreaking) this month, it means that in the future I see that Indonesia will be better off for electric motorcycles," he said.

Budi added that there have been three electric motorcycle factories that have groundbreaking in Indonesia until May 2024.

"This month there are three electric motorcycle groundbreaking factories. I was yesterday two weeks ago in Semarang, a Pacific electric motorcycle. After that in Kendal there is a Sunrace (electric motorcycle factory) that is 10 hectares (ha) and now Yadea in Karawang is quite large again," he said.

"We hope that with the issuance of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 55 of 2019, Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 7 of 2022, this mandates that all governments, both central, provincial and regional, gradually replace their motorbikes, both operationally and personally, to electric motors, including cars," he continued.

According to Budi, the government needs to transform the electric vehicle so that the community will gradually follow suit.

"If the government already uses electric motorcycles and electric cars, of course the public will imitate the use. So we hope that in the near future, both from ministries, provinces, and districts/cities, if possible (using electric vehicles)," he added.

With the construction of the Yadea factory in Karawang, Budi hopes that efforts to accelerate the use of electric vehicles in the country will be more massive in the future.
