Invite Korean YouTubers To Hotel, Head Of UPBU Sangia Nibandera Kolaka Office Freed

The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has decided to release Asri Damuna, Head of the Sangia Nibandera Airport Organizing Unit (UPBU) Office, Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi.

The release was the result of the viral video of Asri Damuna which was found to be disrespectful in inviting South Korean YouTubers in Jiah to a hotel.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation, Adita Irawati, explained that this release was carried out to facilitate further investigations regarding Asri's viral video.

"The Ministry of Transportation deeply regrets the viral video involving Asri Damuna, Head of the UPBU Sangia Nibandera Kolaka Office. The person concerned has been relieved of his duties to facilitate further investigations and actions," he said in an official statement, Friday, May 10.

Adita also said that the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi had ordered that the truth of the viral news be investigated immediately and given strict sanctions if found guilty. For this reason, the examination of the person concerned is being carried out.

"If proven true, then it means that the person concerned cannot maintain his dignity as a State Civil Apparatus. There may be internal sanctions related to this," said Adita.

The Ministry of Transportation, continued Adita, hopes that incidents like this will not happen again in the future.

"We ask all ASN to maintain dignity and ethics both as government employees," he said.
