Police Reveals Circulation Of 1.6 Kg Of Methamphetamine To 60 Happy Five Pills From Malaysia

The Karimun Police of the Riau Islands Police (Kepri) thwarted the circulation of 1.6 kilograms of methamphetamine and 763 ecstasy pills and 60 happy five pills from Malaysia.

Karimun Police Chief AKBP Fadli Agus said his party arrested three suspects, each with the initials DH, BI and AL.

"The three suspects have been detained for further investigation," said Karimun Police Chief, quoted from ANTARA, Friday, May 10.

He explained that the disclosure of this case began when officers received information that someone had made narcotics transactions at the Levander housing estate, Tebing District, Karimun Regency.

Furthermore, officers managed to secure three men in their respective rooms with the initials DH, BI and AL.

After being searched, four large packs of suspected methamphetamine were found wrapped in clear plastic with a net weight of 1,689.3 grams, then a small package of narcotics suspected of being methamphetamine with a net weight of 5.3 grams.

In addition, 376 ecstasy pills were also found with a blue barcelona logo, then 387 ecstasy pills with a pink skull logo, and 60 happy five pills in the cupboard in the room.

Based on the confession of the perpetrator DH, the illicit goods were obtained from a man from a Malaysian citizen with the initials FR (DPO), precisely in the Johor area.

The narcotics evidence was brought from the port of Kukup Malaysia to Tanjung Balai Karimun by ferry, then upon arrival in the waters in front of the coastal area (Karimun Regency), the object was thrown into the sea and greeted by BI and AL actors who were already waiting using a brown canoe boat.

"The perpetrators plan to distribute the narcotics in the Karimun area," said the Police Chief.

As a result of their actions, the three suspects violated Article 114 paragraph (2) Subsidiary 112 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with the threat of a minimum sentence of five years and a maximum of 20 years in prison or life sentence or a sentence of death or a fine of Rp. 1 billion to Rp. 10 billion and Article 62 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 05 of 1997 concerning Psychotropics with the threat of a maximum imprisonment of five years and a fine of Rp. 100 million.
