KPK Calls Sidoarjo Regent Confirms Attendance And Explains The Case Tomorrow
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the Sidoarjo Regent Ahmad Muhdlor Ali would fulfill the investigator's summons on Tuesday, May 7. He is said to have made sure he is present to be examined regarding the alleged corruption in cutting incentive money for employees of the Regional Tax Service Agency (BPPD) of Sidoarjo Regency."“Located at the KPK's Red and White Building, the Sidoarjo Regent is currently attending," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Monday, May 6.Ali hopes that Ahmad Muhdlor will really fulfill the investigator's summons. The anti-corruption commission will provide an opportunity for him to explain the alleged corruption case.Moreover, the pretrial submission to the South Jakarta District Court should not be an excuse for him not to attend. It is known, Muhdlor filed a pretrial on April 22 because the objection was determined as a suspect.This case is registered with number 49/Pid.Pra/2024/PN JKT.SEL and the inaugural trial will be held on Monday, May 6. However, the KPK was not present because it completed the required files."We give the person concerned the opportunity to explain the case directly in front of the investigative team," he said."In addition, the pretrial process that is starting to run does not stop ongoing investigations and of course the pre-trial is only limited to testing the formal administration side of the investigation process," continued Ali.Previously reported, Sidoarjo Regent Ahmad Muhdlor Ali did not answer the previous summons due to illness some time ago. He should have been examined regarding the cut in incentives for environmental employees of the Regional Tax Service Agency (BPPD).In this case, the Head of the General Subdivision of Personnel of the BPPD Sidoarjo Siska Wati had already been named by the KPK as a suspect. He was caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT) which resulted in R69.9 million in finding.
Furthermore, investigators determined the Head of BPPD Sidoarjo Ari Suyono. Siska's total money allegedly reached Rp2.7 billion since 2023.The notification of the money cut is said to have been done verbally. BPPD employees are also not allowed to discuss it via text message.
