Deputy Of Golkar Ensures Acting Governor Of Bali Enters Radar Will Cagub

DENPASAR - Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party Ahmad Doli Kurnia Tandjung confirmed that the name of the Acting Governor (Pj) of Bali Sang Made Mahendra Jaya was included in the list of candidates who were promoted as candidates for the Governor of Bali for the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada.

"One of the things we are considering to be nominated in Bali is the Acting Governor," he said, Monday, May 6.

Ahmad Doli said that since 1.5 years ago the Golkar Party has collected regional head candidates throughout Indonesia, including Bali, and currently they have pocketed around 1,200 candidates from 508 regencies/cities and 37 provinces that will carry out the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada.

The Acting Governor of Bali, who is a retired police officer, is on the list, where currently the banyan party is still narrowing their candidates in further surveys.

The chairman of Commission II of the DPR said that currently they have entered the third stage, namely the survey to strengthen their best name, later the name will be announced in June 2024.

"That's why, now we can't say person A or B or C because currently the screening is still being established for the Acting Governor and others, whether they appear or not, in a good survey or not," he said.

After later the recommendation is issued in June, the Golkar Party plans to conduct another survey, only before registration at the end of August they will make a decision.

During the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada process, the Golkar Party also admitted that it was open to all political parties to form a coalition.

Ahmad Doli acknowledged that the impact of the presidential and legislative elections close to the regional elections made the closeness of the coalition at that time to the regional elections, but did not rule out the possibility of certain areas looking for opportunities outside.

"Because the coalition is close, it must be between that first, but the regional elections cannot be equated with the national ones, we will also open communication with all political parties even though maybe the first stage of the Forward Indonesia Coalition first," he said.

"Because issues and local wisdom are stronger, the map is not necessarily the same, for example the political constellation in Bali, the Golkar Party is open to building coalitions in the regional elections," he continued.
