Lost Residents Attacked By Crocodiles In Ende Di

LABUAN BAJO - The joint search and rescue team (SAR) in the second day of search finally found a resident who was reported missing after being attacked by a crocodile in a state of death in Ende Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

"The victim named Yosten (31), a resident of Kota Baru Village, Kota Baru District, Ende Regency," said Head of the Maumere Basarnas Office, Supriyanto Ridwan, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 6.

He explained that the victim's body was found floating around the Bele River mangrove tree.

There were also crocodile bite marks on the victim's body after the victim was attacked by a crocodile on Saturday (4/5).

"The victim was found at around 10.30 WITA when the joint SAR team was combing the search area with a distance of one kilometer from the scene," he said.

The victim's body was then immediately evacuated to the funeral home.

Regarding the chronology of the incident, he continued, the victim was attacked by a crocodile while fishing in the estuary of the Bale River on Saturday (4/5) at 21.00 WITA.

The fishing activity, he continued, was carried out by the victim and two of his colleagues, but when the victim was attacked by a crocodile, the victim's two colleagues were at different fishing points on the Bale River.

"When the two friends of the victim were fishing, they heard the victim's screams from the estuary, they rushed to the estuarine and it was seen that the crocodile had pounced on the victim and took the victim to the bottom of the estuary of the Bele River," he said.

The victim's colleague who saw the incident immediately reported to the victim's family and then continued to the Maumere Basarnas Office to conduct a search.
