Ahead Of The Departure Of Hajj Candidates, West Java Governor Orders Managers To Improve Directional Guidelines At Kertajati Airport

JABAR - Acting Governor of West Java (Jabar) Beyvi Machmudin carried out a surprise inspection (sidak) of readiness for the West Java International Airport (BIJB) of Kertajati, Majalengka Regency, Friday 3 May.

Bey noted several important things that airport managers need to improve from signages to services before the departure of Indonesian Hajj candidates begins on May 12, 2024.

"I ask for directions and don't be too quiet at the airport, give it to the congregation who will depart, it's fun, happiness so don't be empty at the airport, even though there are still not too many (activities)," said Bey at BIJB Kertajati, Majalengka, West Java, Friday, May 3, confiscated by Antara.

In addition, Bey assessed that although in general the readiness of airports and departure flow is quite good, from the aspect of cleanliness of cleaning service officers to be reproduced, as well as assistants for elderly pilgrims are prepared to provide the best service.

"Officers who can accompany the congregation must also be reproduced, because most of them are elderly, so they need assistance and not a few are also the first to board the plane, it must be considered so that there are no delays or become obstacles," he said.

Bey also ensured that airport managers had prepared 10 units of wheelchairs plus two golf cars which were confirmed to be fulfilled so that the departure and return home would be comfortable.

He also asked all BIJB Kertajati employees to be friendly, not to put pressure or harsh pressure on pilgrims and passengers.

"You have to smile friendly, so you have to be polite," he said.

Bey arrived at the departure terminal at around 08:50 WIB, and immediately interacted with a number of prospective passengers such as construction workers from Garut who were about to leave for Balikpapan.

Then he reviewed several facilities such as the readiness of facilities and counter check-in personnel, facilities for waiting for passengers, toilets, prayer rooms, lactation rooms, entry routes to planes, canteens and toilets around the parking lot.

However, since it arrived, there have been no directors of PT Bandar Bandar Internasional Jabar (PT BIJB) who welcomed and accompanied Bey. However, Bey continued his inspection into the airport and had a dialogue with passengers, delivery officers, counter-checked one of the airlines, and immigration officers.

After about half an hour of traveling, finally the Director of PT BIJB M Singgih came and met Bey who admitted that he was reviewing the readiness of the Hajj embarkation airport which will begin departing pilgrims on May 12.

Bey pays attention to toilets and prayer rooms in the canteen of airport parking lots, which according to him needs to get the attention of the manager to be repaired immediately because his condition is damaged and not maintained.

"I also review that facilities such as driver toilets should not be damaged if opened, everything must be good with appropriate standards. All must be kept clean and functioning," he said.

In addition, Bey also sees it as important that the airport prepares a prayer room at the departure terminal for the congregation, in order to facilitate those who will pray Friday.

"Don't let it be because you want to leave, it's considered your husband, because not everyone is the same, there are those who still want Friday, so I ask to prepare facilities for Friday. The point is not to cause disappointment," he said.
