Minister Of Home Affairs Affirms 2024 Pilkada According To Schedule Held November 2024
JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian emphasized that the implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada according to the schedule there is no acceleration from November to September 2024
"When it comes to the time, I don't think there will be any changes. It's still November 27," Tito said at the Indonesian KPU Office, Jakarta, Thursday, May 2, quoted by Antara.
Based on the KPU stage, the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada is scheduled for Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
He assessed that the discourse on accelerating the 2024 Pilkada emerged so that the elected regional heads would not be far from the inauguration of the president on October 20, 2024.
"If it is carried out on November 27, the risk will be later, if there is a dispute. Our experience will be completed in 2 to 3 months, meaning February the inauguration," he explained.
According to Tito, the philosophy of simultaneous inauguration is that there is harmonization and synchronization between the central, provincial, district/city programs for the same five years. Therefore, it is hoped that the schedule for the inauguration will not be far apart.
"There has been a discourse that September, December will be completed. So, January 1, most of the new regional heads can be sworn in," said Tito.

However, after looking at the existing dynamics, the implementation of the 2024 Pilkada remains on schedule. He also emphasized that there has been no revision regarding the change in the schedule for the 2024 Pilkada.
"There is no opportunity (of the regional elections to advance). I have confirmed that the regional elections have not changed on November 27," he added.
He did not deny that there were several opinions related to the simultaneous inauguration. However, this has little effect.
The following is the schedule for the 2024 Pilkada:
1. On 27 February 16 November 2024: Notification and registration of election monitoring;
2. On April 24 May 31, 2024: Submission of a list of potential voters;
3. On May 5, August 19, 2024: Fulfillment of the requirements for support for individual candidate pairs;
4. On May 31, September 23, 2024: Updating and drafting of the voter list;
5. On August 24, 2024: Announcement of registration of candidate pairs;
6. On 27'29 August 2024: Candidate registration;
7. On 27 August 21 September 2024: Research on candidate requirements;
8. On September 22, 2024: Determination of candidate pairs;
9. On September 25, November 23, 2024: Campaign implementation;
10. On 27 November 2024: Implementation of voting; and
11. On 27 November December 16, 2024: Counting of votes and recapitulation of vote count results.
