Support The Right To Clean Water, UNICEF Calls The Theme Appointed By WWF Bali 2024 In Line

JAKARTA - The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) mentioned the theme "Water for Joint Prosperity" carried by Indonesia at the 2024 Bali World Water Forum (WWF) in line with their goals.

"The theme 'Water for Together Prosperity' is in line with UNICEF's goals," said Specialist WASH/Water, Hygiene, and Sanitation UNICEF Indonesia, Salathiel Nali in Jakarta, Thursday, May 2, as reported by Antara.

He said the theme was in line with UNICEF's goals covered by several focuses, including focusing on the needs of children.

Regarding this focus, Nali emphasized that the theme of mutual welfare is in line with UNICEF's goal to ensure that all children have access to basic needs, including clean water.

Pada fokus lain UNICEF terkait kelangkaan air dan kesehatan anak, mereka mengatakan banyakan anak-anak yang tinggal di daerah yang kekurangan air mengakibatkan dampak negatif terhadap kesehatan mereka.

For this reason, focusing on joint welfare on water resources will directly address these problems.

Furthermore, Nali also mentioned the 10th WWF theme in accordance with UNICEF's focus on climate and water change issues. Related to this, he said there is a relationship between climate change and reduced water supply, which is a major threat to the welfare of children.

For this reason, Nali said finding a solution for water welfare together would be very important in a world that is experiencing climate change.

In addition, Nali also stated that the WWF theme this year is in line with UNICEF's focus on water issues as part of the right to clean water.

He emphasized that UNICEF strongly supports the right to clean water and sanitation. Meanwhile, the theme "Water for shared Welfare" promotes fair access to water. For this reason, he considered the theme to be in line with the core principle.

In addition to raising the theme "Water for Shared Prosperity", the 10th WWF will focus on discussing four things, including water conservation, clean water and sanitation, food and energy security, and mitigation of natural disaster.

The 10th World Water Forum will be held in Bali on 18-25 May 2024.
