DPR Asks The Government To Take Strict Action On Gas Stations That Are Not Distributed By Pertalite

Member of Commission VII DPR RI Mulyanto asked Pertamina to serve the sale of Pertalite type fuel because there were no changes to the rules related to the distribution and procurement of subsidized fuel.

Mulyanto emphasized that the government must take firm action against gas stations that do not distribute Pertalite type fuel, because the Government's assignment fuel to Pertamina must be carried out properly to meet the needs of the community.

"The annual quota for Pertalite type of fuel assignments has been set every year. So Pertamina and gas stations must not unilaterally refuse to distribute fuel for this assignment. Don't return the assignment. If it's a billboard, it's better to just revoke the permit," said Mulyanto, quoted Thursday, May 2.

Mulyanto said that currently the regulations for limiting the distribution of Pertalite are still the same.

Let alone to remove Pertalite type fuel, he said, to reduce the amount of distribution alone, it is not allowed.

"There is no government policy to remove this type of Pertalite fuel. So Pertamina, as an operator, should not precede the Government as a regulator, by not distributing fuel in assignments, namely Pertalite," he added.

As previously reported, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif said that the regulation on the purchase of subsidized fuel has not been completed in the near future.

The target for completing the revision of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 191 of 2014 is in line with the government's plan to hold fuel prices and electricity rates will not increase until June 2024.

Arifin said that the revision of the regulation is expected to improve the target and realization of the distribution of fuel subsidies in the community later.
