May Day, Said Iqbal Says There Are 50 Thousand Workers Will Be Crowded With The GBK Intermediate Stadium

JAKARTA - As many as 50 thousand workers' unions from various regions will be crowded with the Gelora Bung Karno Intermediate Stadium, Central Jakarta. They gathered to demonstrate in commemoration of International Labor Day or May Day.

"50,000 people will move towards the Glora Bung Karno area, rather holding a May Day party at the Senayan madya stadium," said Labor Party President Said Iqbal to reporters at the Horse Statue, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, May 1.

"Approximately 30 thousand-40 thousand protesters will survive there," he continued.

Said Iqbal said that his party demanded the revocation of the Omnibus Law on the Job Creation Act and the elimination of outsourching or rejection of low wages.

"These two issues have become a problem for workers in the last five years," he said.

Said Iqbal revealed some of the bitterness felt by the workers, such as termination of employment to the minimum wage that has not prospered the people.

"Therefore, the labor party together with the labor union organization stated that they refused, asking the Constitutional Court to revoke the Omnibus Law on Job Creation, especially the labor cluster and farmers, and the environment and human rights that are being sued at the Constitutional Court," he said.
