KAI And A Property Company Owned By The Conglomerate Eka Tjipta Widjaja Are Working On The Jatake Station Construction
JAKARTA - The Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, reviewed the location of the planned construction location for the Jatake Railway Station, Tangerang Regency, Banten, last Saturday.
"The government always provides support for the private sector to take building initiatives. Therefore, from the discussions that have been carried out, we have decided to give permission to build this Jatake Station," said the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya, in a written statement, as quoted on Monday, March 8.
The construction of Jatake Station will be carried out under a concession scheme between PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) and the private sector, in this case, PT. Sinar Mas Land, a company owned by the late conglomerate Eka Tjipta Widjaja.
The Minister of Transportation said that several days ago, Sinar Mas Land had presented the station construction plan and proposed several alternative location points.
"Indeed, there are several notes, but they can be discussed with the Directorate General of Railways and PT. KAI. We hope that development can be carried out as soon as possible," said the Minister of Transportation.
The Minister of Transportation explained that the construction of Jatake Station will provide a number of benefits for the community. First, provide employment for the community.
Second, developing residential areas needed by the community. Third, to intensify economic activities during a pandemic.
"The efforts to build this station involve the local community so that our affected relatives can get a job. Hopefully, this can be completed in one year," said the Minister of Transportation.
The location for the construction of Jatake Station is at the Tanah Abang - Merak route at KM 37 + 045 between Cicayur Station and Parung Panjang Station.

President Director of KAI, Didiek Hartantyo, said that the collaboration between State-Owned Enterprises and the private sector is to provide convenience for people in the Tangerang Regency area who want to move to DKI Jakarta using Electric Rail Train (KRL) transportation which is known to be cheap, fast, safe, and comfortable.
"This cooperation is a form of active involvement of the private sector and the State-Owned Enterprises in infrastructure development to serve the community without burdening the state budget. Hopefully, this collaboration can become a pilot project for the private sector and the State-Owned Enterprises in building the national economy," said Didiek, in mid-November 2020.
Jatake Station will be served by Electric Rail Train (KRL) on the routes of Tanah Abang, Serpong, Parung Panjang, Maja, and Rangkasbitung. Currently, there are 218 Electric Rail Train trips per day for the Tanahabang-Rangkasbitung route with an average volume of 80 thousand KRL users per day. With the new station, it is hoped that the number of KRL users served will increase.
