SKK Migas And ExxonMobil Drill B-13 Wells Increase National Oil And Gas Production

JAKARTA - Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) and ExxonMobil Cepu Limited (EMCL) conduct B-13 well drilling to increase national oil and gas production

The drilling activity of the well is the first drilling well in the Banyu Urip Infill Classic drilling activity in Cepu Block, Bojonegoro, East Java on Saturday, April 27 in the morning at around 03.00 WIB.

Head of the SKK Migas Well Drilling and Maintenance Division, Surya Widyantoro, said Monday that SKK Migas will continue to oversee every effort to increase oil and gas production and look for new or existing wells to increase national oil and gas production.

"The drilling of new wells and existing well maintenance in 2024 will be intensively carried out by the KKKS (cooperation contract contractor) under the supervision of SKK Migas," Surya said, quoted from Antara, Monday, April 29.

The drilling, continued Surya, is expected to increase the potential for new oil reserves from the B-13 well structure.

Meanwhile, Head of the SKK Migas Program and Communication Division, Hudi D. Suryodipuro, said that in 2024, the exploration well drilling activity will continue to be carried out massively by the KKKS), one of which is EMCL.

"The drilling was carried out in order to find and find giant disclosures and pursue the target of 1 million BOPD and 12 MMSCFD Gas by 2030," said Hudi.

According to Hudi, the discovery of a giant disclosure which is expected to encourage investor interest in working on the potential of upstream oil and gas in Indonesia which is still promising

Meanwhile, the Banyu Urip Infill Classic drilling activity will be carried out from 2024 to 2025 which consists of five carbonate infill wells and two infill plastic wells.

The first B-13 well is between the Banyu Urip Bojonegoro Field existing well and is drilled directly using the PDSI-40.3 rig with the planned final depth of the 6527 ftMD well for the next 50 days.

After drilling the B-13 will be continued with a B-12 well and the two wells will be produced directly through tie in to the Banyu Urip production facility. Furthermore, it will be followed by drilling of three carbonate infill wells and two infill plastic wells on different well pads.

Banyu Urip drilling activities, especially from infill plastic wells, are expected to increase oil production nationally and its contribution can support the production of 1 million barrels of oil per day (BOPD) in 2030.
