Wattpad Will Remove Ability To Send Messages In May
JAKARTA Wattpad, an application to readers and writers, will remove the Direct Messenger (DM) feature to exchange messages. Once this feature is removed, users will not be able to send any messages. Delivered via the Help Center page, Wattpad states that the DM feature is still available, but can only be used until May 6. After that, the entire message will disappear because the support of the feature has been permanently deleted. Wattpad intentionally removes DM capabilities from its platform because the users of its features are not too many. The developer of the original story platform said that, "direct messages are only relevant to a small part of our global user base." Therefore, they removed the ability to exchange messages directly. Instead, users can only interact with readers or storywriters through comments columns in the story and in the user profile.
