Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Wants Indonesia To Become A Center For Sharia Economic Development

JAKARTA - The Vice President (Vice President) of the Republic of Indonesia Ma'ruf Amin wants Indonesia to become a center for Islamic economic and financial development considering that Indonesia is a country with a majority Muslim and a sharia economy has also become a global demand.

"For us Muslims, the Islamic economy in addition to providing economic benefits for business development and this has become a global demand because this sharia economy has become a global part," said the Vice President when giving a speech at the inauguration ceremony of the Regional Committee for Sharia Economics and Finance (KDEKS) West Java Province in Bandung City, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, April 24.

In fact, said the Vice President, in several countries where the population is not predominantly Muslim, the development of Islamic economics and finance has also been carried out.

"Korea (South Korea) for example, they are very intense in developing the halal industry, especially its pharmaceuticals. In Taiwan in Brazil, especially in China, it is currently being developed," said the Vice President.

On that occasion, the Vice President also stated that there needs to be sharia-based entrepreneurs to develop the halal industry and sharia social funds.

"The halal industry, the financial industry and zakat sharia social funds are very dependent on this entrepreneur. If there are no entrepreneurs, of course there is no halal industry, no financial industry and no one has zakat or waivers. Therefore, it is important to develop these entrepreneurs," he said.

According to the Vice President, to develop sharia-based entrepreneurs, there are several ways that can be done, including optimizing the sharia business incubation program, strengthening existing sharia entrepreneurs and hijrahkan conventional entrepreneurs to sharia.

"First, earlier through the incubation of efforts to grow, the seeding that was not previously grown, especially in the regions. Second, the strengthening of existing entrepreneurs who already exist is strengthened and the third is to mobilize conventional entrepreneurs to become sharia entrepreneurs. I think this will only happen to strengthen them," said the Vice President.
