When Pioneering About Careers, Anne Hathaway Was Asked To Kiss 10 Men For Audition

JAKARTA - Anne Hathaway is one of the top Hollywood actresses who has successfully played various characters. However, this journey towards her dream career does not always meet a smooth path.

Through her latest interview, Anne Hathaway revealed that the current audition process or chemistry test was very different when she participated in a series of auditions in the early 2000s. She did not mention her name, but she revealed that she had been asked to kiss several men to find her co-star.

"In the 2000s, and this happened to me, it was considered normal to ask an actor to have intimate scenes with other actors for chemistry tests, which was actually the worst thing to do," Anne Hathaway quoted People as saying.

"I was told, 'We have 10 men coming today and you will be audited. Are you enthusiastic about making out with all of them?' And I thought, 'Something's wrong with me?' because I'm not enthusiastic. I thought it was disgusting, "explained Hathaway.

The star of The Idea of You felt at that time he was young and worried that he would lose his career because he was considered a difficult actor.

"At that time I was young and felt how easy it was to lose everything with the label 'hard' so I pretended to be enthusiastic and continued it," he said again.

"It's not a matter of power, no one is trying to hurt me. It's just a matter of different times and now our (industry) is getting better," said Anne Hathaway.

Anne Hathaway is not only acting but also being a producer for her latest film, The Idea of You. This film tells the story of a 40-year-old mother who falls in love with a top 24-year-old singer.

"We ask every actor who comes to choose a song they think their characters will like, a song that makes my character dance, and we make a little improvised," said the 41-year-old actor.

"I sat in a chair like I came back from dinner, we played songs and started dancing. That's as easy as it was. I heard his voice and I started smiling and he (Nicholas Galitzine) saw me smiling, so he started relaxing and we started dancing," he said.
