Apple Will Eliminate Physical Button On IPhone 16
JAKARTA Apple is rumored to be bringing about major changes when launching the iPhone 16. Not only presenting a new feature powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI), this phone will remove physical buttons.
Quoting from Economic Daily News, Apple submitted an order to the company Advanced Semiconductor Engineering. The components ordered are system modules in one package to change the physical button to a capacitive button.
Different from the usual physical button, the capacitive button is a button that does not appear and has different touch sensitivity. Usually, this button is equipped with fingerprints to improve the security of the phone.
Rumors of using the capacitive button have appeared before the iPhone 15 is launched. However, this key change plan was canceled due to manufacturing challenges. Therefore, the already circulating iPhone 15 still uses the classic button.

When news of the capacitive button cancellation circulated, some suspected that Apple would add this button to devices launched in 2024 or the iPhone 16. Most likely, the classic button will indeed be removed.
In addition to ordering the system module for the capacitive button, Apple will also add a Taptic Engine on both sides of the iPhone 16. Taptic Engine is needed so that users get feedback in the form of vibrations when pressing their buttons.
