Stop Searchers From Entering England, PM Rishi Sunak Continues To Smooth The Rwanda Bill
JAKARTA - British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak continues to smooth out the Rwanda Bill to stop citizens in Africa from entering the UK seeking asylum.
The PM's efforts have been made over the past few weeks in the upper house of the British Parliament aka House of Lords.
Quoting Mirror.co.uk, Monday, April 22, PM promised that if the bill was knocked into the Rwanda Law it would stop asylum carriers from entering the UK.
According to him, the activities of the entry of refugees to the UK are more than sufficient.
He also said the plane to transport asylum seekers to be flown back to Rwanda was on standby at the British airfield. The aircraft will certainly be operational for the next 10-12 weeks.
The PM initially promised the flight to deport the Rwanda refugee to take place this spring. However, the jet leased from the commercial airline can only be operated in July 2024.
Apart from Rwanda, PM claims asylum seekers from Albania and Vietnam are currently being handled by the British Government.
PM believes the Rwanda Bill, which is considered authoritarian by Human Rights Watch, is very important for governments to stop asylum seekers from crossing the British Strait.
He also emphasized that those who criticized the Rwanda Bill's wrong assessment. According to him, asylum seekers after crossing the British Strait will not always be able to live in England.
On the one hand, other countries have repeatedly blocked the Rwanda Bill with a series of amendments. This led the bill to debate for more than four months and delayed asylum seeker flights back to Rwanda.
