Successfully Launching Ioniq 5 N, Hyundai Not Interested In Presenting A 1,000-Dk Powered Car
JAKARTA - The presence of Ioniq 5N proves that Hyundai can create high-performance electric vehicles (EVs). However, the company from South Korea has no intention of presenting a more powerful car of up to 1,000 dk.
Vice President of N Brand Management Joonwoo Park, believes that his party does not want to be involved in horse warfare' when presenting high-performance vehicles and focusing on pleasure in driving.
"Improving horse power many times on electric vehicles is very easy, but we have a different approach," Park said as quoted by InsideEVs, Wednesday, April 17.
Park also assessed that not everyone can control the wild Ioniq 5 N which has 641 dk power (with the N Grin Boost feature), so arguing that presenting an EV powered by more than 1,000 dk is not the right thing.
"Although we can have cars with more than 1,000 dk, not many people can control it," Park added.
Currently, there are a number of EV models that have 1,000 dk of power, namely the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, the Tesla Model S Plaid, and Rimac Nevera.
Launched in March, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT has an electric motor that can produce a peak power of 1,092 dk and a torque of 1,340 Nm, so that it can run from 0 to 100 km/hour in 2.3 seconds with the highest speed reaching 306 km/hour.

Then, other wild cars such as the Tesla Model S Plaid have an electric motorbike measuring 1020 dk and a torque of 1,420 Nm so that they can accelerate from 0 to 97 km/hour in just 2 seconds. This US manufacturer claims that this sedan's fastback can penetrate speeds of up to 320 km/hour.
Meanwhile, Rimac Nevera has a much larger power than its rivals. Equipped with four electric motors, this supercar-style EV has a power of up to 1,888 dk and a torque of 2,360 Nm.
Thus, this car can go from 0 to 100 km/hour in 1.82 seconds and is claimed to be able to speed up to 412 km/hour. Due to its extraordinary ability with exotic designs, this car is only available as many as 150 units in the world.
