PO Bus Driver Who Escaped After Killing Passenger In Agam West Sumatra Asked To Surrender
West Sumatra (West Sumatra) Regional Police (Polda) appealed to PO ALS bus drivers who fled after having a single accident on an alternative road to Malalak, Agam Regency to immediately surrender."Regarding the driver who fled, I urge him to surrender immediately," said West Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Suharyono in Padang, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, April 17.Suharyono said this was to make it easier for the police to explore and ask for information from the parties involved, especially bus drivers, regarding the incident that occurred."We want to know and explore this case from witnesses including from the driver," said Inspector General of Police Suharyono.The incident that killed one passenger was a single accident. Until now, the West Sumatra Police are still investigating the cause of the bus accident with the police number BK 7371 UD on the Medan-Jakarta route."This is a single accident. The police are still investigating and fingerprinting the cause of the accident," said the Kapolda.From the field inspection, the Kapolda said the accident that occurred on Monday (15/4/2024), the road conditions were slippery, decreased and occurred in the afternoon at around 15.30 WIB.However, his party ensured that the police would explore the cause of the accident. This is because there are a number of factors that cause accidents including human errors, vehicles, weather, situation and environment, cross signs and so on.Meanwhile, the driver of the PO ALS bus reserve who had an accident, Johni, admitted that he and the main driver along with two new kenek had passed the Malalak route for the first time.
"Because the officers directed us, we have never gone through Malalak. The route is difficult and there may be a braking problem on the bus. When it happened I was sleeping and immediately woke up and had time to carry a child off the bus," said Johni.
