5 Teams From The National Police Deployed To Exhume Victims Of The Murder Of Indonesian Navy Personnel In Sawahlunto

JAKARTA - The Indonesian National Police (Polri) conducted an exhumation or excavation of the tomb for medical purposes for victims of the alleged murder case by Indonesian Navy personnel on December 24, 2022 in Sawahlunto City, West Sumatra."We will be professional in handling even though the case was about two years ago," said West Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Suharyono in Padang, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, April 17.Suharyono said, in the exhumation process, the National Police Headquarters deployed five teams consisting of Medical Health (Dokkes) in collaboration with the West Sumatra Police Dokkes.The Regional Police Chief said that in the process of law enforcement the police would look back at the beginning or the events of the alleged murder case to the law enforcement against the suspect. Until then, he made sure there were no obstacles in disclosing the case. This is because the police work based on existing legal procedures."We will see the results this afternoon from investigators and also from the Police Chief who previously received instructions," said the Kapolda.After the demolition of the tomb which is suspected to be the body of Iwan Sutrisman Telaumbanua which was killed by Serda Pom Adan Aryan Marsal and Muhammad Alfin Andrian, the police confirmed that there would be a further investigation process.The Kapolda further said that for the collection of the Deoxyribo Nucleic Acid (DNA), it can be seen or confirmed by deepening the structure of the corpse's teeth.Separately, the Commander of Lantamal (Danlantamal) II Padang, First Admiral of the Indonesian Armed Forces, Syufenri, said that Serda Pom Adan Aryan Marsal was threatened with the death penalty or life imprisonment after killing a civilian at the end of December 2022 in Sawahlunto City.
"Serda Pom Adan Aryan Marsal telah melanggar Pasal 378, 338,339 dan 340 KUHP Junto Pasal 55 KUHP dengan ancaman hukuman mati atau pidana seumur hidup, atau 20 tahun penjara," kata Danlantamal II Padang Laksamana Pertama TNI Syufenri.By Muhammad Zulfikar.
