Polda Metro Jaya Expects Homecomers To Regulate Return Time To Jakarta
JAKARTA - Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Police Latif Usman, hopes that the community can arrange the return time to Jakarta or when they return to the capital after celebrating Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah in their hometown.
According to him, it is estimated that around one million vehicles will enter Jakarta within the period of April 13-16, 2024, therefore the public is expected to choose between that date.
"Although in one day there are only 250 thousand vehicles, it is quite high. Therefore, I hope that people who return to Jakarta will prepare everything," he said in Jakarta on Thursday.
In addition to regulating the return time, Latif also appealed to travelers to choose a number of toll gates so that there would be no accumulation of vehicles such as at the Cikunir, Tanjung Priok, and Halim intersections.
"These three places are crucial places for Jakarta entry points that we pay close attention to. However, we have a functional toll road, a toll road from Cibitung to Cimanggis," he said.

Therefore, people who will return to Bogor, Depok, and Cibubur can choose the route and do not need to go through Cikunir who has a significant time and distance.
Regarding the contraflow, Latif explained that this step will be applied, especially on toll roads that enter Halim if there is a density.
"That is the last step we will take, namely that we will implement a contraflow from the Halim toll gate, perhaps to the Slipi or maybe to the front of the Polda Metro Jaya or maybe even to the front of the DPR building," he said.
Latif also added that the backflow would be broken from the start so that entering Jakarta would be more comfortable for travelers
