Talking By Phone, This Is The Contents Of Prabowo And Erdogan's Conversation

JAKARTA - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in a telephone conversation with elected presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto said the RI-Turki cooperation was getting more intense, especially in the military and defense sectors.

Erdogan also asked Prabowo for several collaborations that were explored, especially during his tenure as Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia to be resumed to completion, even strengthened in the future.

"Our bilateral relations have intense agendas in several areas, such as the military, defense, industrial cooperation which has also developed into trade and finance," said Erdogan by telephone received by Prabowo in his office, Jakarta, Monday (8/4), as uploaded to Prabowo's official Instagram account @prabowo, Tuesday.

"Dear brother, the momentum that we have not been able to generate in our cooperation during your tenure as Minister of Defense, will continue to be strengthened. Likewise with mutual trust between the two countries and all for the benefit of our respective people," Erdogan continued.

Prabowo agreed with Erdogan. He believes that the cooperation between Indonesia and Turkey needs to be expanded in the future, especially because relations between the two countries are very good.

"The friendship and cooperation between Turkey and Indonesia must be fostered and expanded. I am determined to do so," Prabowo told Erdogan.

He also expressed his admiration for Turkey's various achievements, which in 2023 commemorates its 100th anniversary.

"We admire the achievements of the Turkish people and we want to work together for the good of our respective people," Prabowo told Erdogan.

In the defense industry sector, Indonesia and Turkey have collaborated, among others, between PT Pindad and FNSS Turkey to produce with Kaplan/Tiger tanks whose first 10 units have been received by Indonesia.

Turkey and Indonesia are also exploring opportunities for cooperation to jointly produce unmanned aircraft, namely between PT Dirgantara Indonesia and Turkish Aerospace Industry, then there is also the possibility of Indonesia buying an ATMACA missile made by Rocketsan Turkey to be installed on Indonesian Navy warships which are currently entering the modernization stage (refurbishment) at the PT PAL Indonesia shipyard in Surabaya, East Java.

In a conversation with Prabowo, Turkish President Erdogan also invited the elected RI presidential candidate to work together on how to stop the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Erdogan said that stopping the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Palestine, is currently a priority for the majority of countries in the world, especially countries where the majority of the population is Muslim. Turkey and Indonesia are part of a country with a Muslim population,

"I believe this will result in an important added value for us if we can resolve the issue," Erdogan told Prabowo.
