PKB Believes Gibran Will Be Disqualified As Elected Vice Presidential Candidate
JAKARTA - The National Awakening Party (PKB) believes that Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who is the vice presidential candidate number two, will be disqualified according to the request in the dispute over the results of the 2024 presidential election at the Constitutional Court (MK).
Deputy Chairperson of the PKB DPP, Jazilul Fawaid, assessed that judges must decide that Gibran should be disqualified as the elected vice presidential candidate. If not, similar violations could occur again.
"We are still confident that (Gibran, ed.) will be disqualified because, yes, ethically, there will be continuous problems in the future (if not, ed.)," Jazilul told reporters at the PKB DPP Office, Central Jakarta, Saturday, April 6, 2024.
Jazilul believes that the panel of judges at the 2024 presidential election dispute trial will focus on a number of alleged ethical violations. This includes social assistance (bansos).
"Who forbids or refuses if there are poor people who are assisted, PKB wants that. However, look at the momentum, ethical patterns. So, I mean that, the ethics of the rulers should also be ethical in justice," he said.

After all, according to Jazilul, the public will continue to monitor this trial so that the judge will definitely make the right decision.
"Yes, I am sure that after the opinion of the community so far. If that doesn't happen, the Constitutional Court will also become a place of blasphemy," said Jazilul.
As previously reported, the Constitutional Court (MK) has held a trial for the 2024 election dispute and summoned witnesses. The results will then be read out on April 22, 2024.
The four ministers from the cabinet of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) have also been presented for questioning on Friday, April 5, 2024. They are Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, and Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini.
