Meta Add Label To AI Created Images And Audio

JAKARTA Meta plans to launch a special label to more content generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI). The plan, this label will be embedded into the media made by Meta AI in May.

This policy was launched after the Supervisory Board, content moderation decision makers on Meta, provided input. They say the Meta AI label policy is still too narrow as it only includes videos.

In 2020, when the new AI label was implemented, manipulation content using AI was rarely found. In the past, manipulation content was created in the form of a video, but now it is different. AI can already create content in the form of photos and audio.

"In the last four years, and particularly in the past year, people have developed other types of realistic content AI produces such as audio and photos, and this technology is growing rapidly," Meta said in an official blog.

Therefore, Meta is expanding their label policy. In the coming months, all social media users will see Made with AI signs on video, audio, and images created or manipulated by AI.

However, specifically for the media generated by Meta AI, the company will provide an Imagined with AI sign. This label will be visible in images created by the image generator in Meta AI to provide a clearer context.

"If we determine that images, videos, or digitally modified audio have a high risk of materially defrauding the public about something important, we can add a more prominent label," explains Meta.
