Semi-permanent Rental Hangus Devoured By Fire Due To Gas Stove Exploding While Left Behind

JAKARTA - A semi-permanent settlement on Jalan Jembatan Bandung 11, RT 11/03, Pinang Ranti Village, Makasar District, East Jakarta, was scorched, Friday, April 5, afternoon.

"It is true, the object of the burning of a rented house with a burned area of 10x10 meters. The owner named Arif suffered losses of up to Rp. 200 million," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman when confirmed.

According to witness testimony, the fire started when the owner of the house was cooking. Then he left the stove and forgot to turn it off.

"The cause is the gas stove. Because when I was cooking, I left it, it caused the lighting to get bigger," he said.

Luckily there were no casualties as a result of the fire incident. The fire was extinguished only at 12.00 WIB.

"We have deployed 8 cars to extinguish the fire. Currently, the fire status is green or permanently extinguished," he said.
