KISS Sells Song Catalog To Intellectual Property For IDR 4.7 Trillion
JAKARTA - KISS, a rock band from New York, United States decided to sell a catalog of songs along with their facial name, image and paint rights for 300 million or equivalent to IDR 4.7 trillion.
Meanwhile, those who now hold the catalog of songs to the intellectual property of KISS are Pophouse Entertainment, the company behind the famous ABBA Voyage.
In addition to KISS' brand name, song catalog, and intellectual property, the agreement also includes a share of the record rights and master publishing.
Launching Music Business Worldwide, Pophouse's vision is more than just to obtain catalogs of iconic songs such as Rock and Roll All Nite and I Wanna Rock and Roll All Night. They also intend to preserve iconic music, mysterious persona, and KISS's expressive image for future generations.

Meanwhile, the news comes four months after KISS announced a partnership with the headquartered Pophouse in Sweden in an avatar concert featuring their digital version.
Pophouse, creator of ABBA Voyage's virtual concert series said in December 2023 that they will continue to fight for KISS's legacy to old and new fans, and for all generations.
"Our partnership will combine KISS's historical wealth and iconic status with cutting-edge technology, enabling fans now and in the future to experience an unprecedented band," said Per Sundin CEO of Pophouse Entertainment.
Previously, the winner of two Grammy Awards, Cyndi Lauper, had also sold his music catalog to Pophouse Entertainment. He believes that the steps taken will maintain and develop his music legacy.
