Minister Of Energy And Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif Apresisasi PLN Maintains Electricity Supply During Ramadan And Eid Al-Fitr 2024
JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif appreciated PT PLN (Persero)'s efforts to keep electricity supply safe during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri period.
He said this when he visited the Gresik Steam Gas Power Plant (PTLGU), East Java, Thursday, April 4.
"PLN has taken significant steps to overcome the bottle neck in the electricity system. For all physical readiness, it is safe and technical, I think all of them are safe. PLN has anticipated and preventive measures to the system and program," said Arifin, quoted from Antara, Friday, April 5.
PLN, said Arifin, also checks regularly to ensure electricity supply is safe, not only in the Eid al-Fitr moment, but also as part of routine operations.
"This is so that services can be maximized and there will be no electricity disturbances for the community," said Arifin.
On the same occasion, PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo, represented by the Director of Generation Management Adi Lumakso, explained that the electricity system nationally during the Ramadan Alert Period and Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri (April 3-19 2024) in general safe conditions.
The highest national peak load projection in the standby period is 44,011 megawatts (MW) with a supply capacity of 52,638 MW so that there is still a total reserve of 8,627 MW.
"The power reserves are sufficient. We have made all the preparations from a long time ago," said Adi.
He also ensured that the supply of primary energy for power plants was in a safe position. The supply of coal for PLN's PLTU was not emergency, with an average of 22.2-31.9 days of operation.

Likewise for gas supply which is in volume 802.84 billion British thermal unit (BBTU) for generators in the Java-Madura-Bali region, 226.03 BBTU for Sumatra, 53.56 BBTU for Kalimantan and 35.86 BBTU for Sulawesi. Meanwhile, fuel supply is also in a safe condition with an average reserve of 14.3 days of operation throughout the country.
During this period, PLN also alerted 81,591 personnel at 2,766 posts. The personnel were equipped with 1,731 generators, 735 uninterruptible power supply (UPS), 1,206 units of mobile substations (UGB), 188 units of mobile cable (UKB) / mobile cable and cubic unit (UKKB), 19 mobile transformers, 33 ERS standby, 395 cranes, 3,756 cars, and 3,318 operational motorcycles.
Including those on alert are the supporting infrastructure for homecoming electric vehicles such as public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) as many as 1,299 units spread throughout Indonesia.
