Sukmawati Soekarnoputri Apologizes For Her Poems Considered Blaspheming Religion In Today's Memory, April 4, 2018
JAKARTA Memories of today, six years ago, April 4, 2018, the son of President Soekarno, Sukmawati Soekarnoputri apologized for the commotion of her poem: Ibu Indonesia. He said poetry was created merely his views as an artist and a culturalist.
Previously, Sukmawati's poetry gave rise to a polemic. He is considered blasphemy against Islam. The narrative can be seen from the content of poetry that alludes to the issue of callan and cadar. Sukmawati said the two were no more beautiful than other Nusantara culture.
Soekarno's artistic blood has flowed to his children. This talent is also present in Sukmawati. Megawati Soekarnoputri's sister is known as one of Indonesia's artists and cultural observers. However, this status is not a guarantee that each of her works can always be accepted by the general public.
Take for example when Sukmawati read her poem, Ibu Indonesia. The poem was read in the 29th Anniversary of Anne Avantie's work at the Indonesia Fasion Week 2018 on March 29, 2018. The poetry that Sukmawati read attracted the attention of many circles.
Instead of being responded positively, Sukmawati's poetry was flooded with criticism. All because Sukmawati in her poetry has offended the call to prayer and cadre. Sukmawati is like discriminating something that characterizes Indonesians.
The criticism came because Sukmawati compared Pancasila's littleung which was more melodious than the call to prayer. He also compared the blended juice to more beautiful than the veil. Many people feel that Sukmawati is creating poetry that tends to be sensitive.
The 212 Alumni Brotherhood Board, Kapitra Ampera spoke up. He considered the call to prayer was not for anything else. It cannot be compared to anything else. Sukmawati is considered to have tried blasphemy.
Sukawati was also asked to be careful when giving birth to work that had a potential to disturb peace. At first Sukmawati did not want to be blamed. He considered that there was nothing wrong with poetry that contained national reflection. He considered that the thought was legitimate.
"The issue of young Indonesian mothers is more beautiful than your call to prayer, that's okay. It's not always the person who plays the call to prayer is melodious. It's a reality. It's a voice art. And coincidentally, what stuck to my ears is the strain of my mothers. It's melodious. "
"That's my opinion as a culturalist. So, please, people who carry out their duties to make a vote, the voice is melodious, pleasing to the ear," said Sukmawati as quoted on Detik.com page, April 3, 2018.
The Indonesian Mother's Poem, which Sukmawati has written since 2006, has caused a commotion. Sukmawati is threatened with being reported by several parties on charges of blasphemy against Islam. The problem became hot news in the country's flashlights and caused polemics.
Sukmawati finally took a stand. He did not want his poetry to become a protracted controversy. Sukmawati apologized to all Indonesian people, especially Muslims for the noise she made on April 4, 2018.

"However, because this literary work from the poem of Ibu Indonesia has sparked controversy in various groups, both pros and cons, especially among Muslims, hereby from the bottom of my heart, I apologize physically and mentally to Indonesian Muslims, especially those who feel offended and object to the poem of the Indonesian Mother," Sukmawati said at a press conference in Cikini as quoted on the BBC website, April 4, 2018.
