Amid The Massive Layoff Of The Global Gaming Industry, What's The Fate Of Esports?

JAKARTA - Ending March, UniPin Community (UNITY) is again holding a monthly webinar titled Esports in 2024: Growing or Fading? which discusses projections and esports trends in 2024 in depth.

This webinar was held to see changes in the lifestyle and habits of the post-pandemic community, which provide various changes that become opportunities as well as threats to various industries, including esports.

In this webinar, Aditya Kusuma Putra (Mozia) as the Super Coach of the Garudaku Academy said that esports is no longer a new thing in 2024. He also sees bright prospects for the esports industry in the future.

"In 2024, many new seeds have also started to come out. From schools and students, it helps to develop the industry itself," said Mozia.

Meanwhile, from the issue of massive layoffs in the gaming industry globally, Isfan Satria Wijaya as Head of Esports MORPH Team believes that despite experiencing difficulties, this industry will continue to grow.

"If asked, the esports are growing or are they fading? The answer is still growing even though yesterday it was still in a stagnant position," said Isfan further.

Isfan also added that although people who consume digital products are constantly experiencing post-pandemic saturation, in 2024 new games will still appear which are expected to be a breakthrough as an answer to the saturation.
