High Demand, Xiaomi Pursues Suppliers To Increase SU7 Production Capacity

JAKARTA - The technology company that also enlivened the electric car market, namely Xiaomi, recently launched the Sedan SU7 model, and soon the model was even ordered by tens of thousands of units.

Citing from the CNevpost page, Wednesday, April 3, it appears that Xiaomi is ready with this high demand, it is reported that Xiaomi has asked its suppliers to increase the production capacity of SU7 electric sedans with this futuristic design.

Not without reason, this is requested to see the initial reception which is classified as very large, so that it can lead to longer delivery waiting times.

"The maker of Xiaomi's car, Xiaomi EV, recently asked suppliers to increase production capacity to suit monthly production of 10,000 cars, with higher priority given to the upper trim variant," Yicai local media reports.

As is known, if you look at Xiaomi's initial plans, it will project production of more than 3,000 units per month in March, then grow to 4,000 to 5,000 units in April, and then stabilize at 6,000 units by the end of the year.

"However, Xiaomi EV sales have recently exceeded expectations, with orders locked for SU7 reaching 40,000 units in the morning of April 2", according to the report.

Currently, the Xiaomi EV App shows a waiting time of 21-24 weeks for the standard version of SU7, 19-22 weeks for the Pro version, and 29-32 weeks for the Max version, meaning customers are ordering the model now having to wait for about eight months, whereas just yesterday the waiting time took only 7 months, and now it's getting longer.
