Banda Aceh Sharia Police Secure 2 Tuak Drinkers During Ramadan
Satpol PP and Wilayatul Hisbah (WH) officers or sharia police together with residents and police officers secured two people while drinking tuak at the former Keudah Banda Aceh terminal, first during Ramadan.
"They drank palm wine and when they were secured they were drunk, both were men," said Head of Enforcement of Islamic Shari'a Satpol-PP/WH Banda Aceh Roslina, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 2.
The two tuakmas were secured by Satpol PP/WH Banda Aceh on Sunday morning (31/3), while patrolling with residents and personnel of the Baiturrahman Police, Banda Aceh.
He said that the case of drinking palm wine or getting drunk was the first to be found in Banda Aceh during this month of Ramadan.
"Currently they are still being held at the Satpol PP/WH for examination by investigators," he said.
The act of drinking palm wine is one of the violations of Islamic law in accordance with Aceh Qanun Number 6, 2014 concerning Jinayat Law and is threatened with caning.
