Previously, the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Ignatius Benny Adi Prabowo, explained that around last February, the Puncak Police reported receiving three people who were secured by the Yonif 300/Bjw Task Force after a shootout occurred in the area.
Three people were handed over, namely WM, DK and AM, but WM was immediately evacuated to Ilaga Hospital because he was injured and died shortly after.
WM itself is listed as a member of the KKB who was involved in a number of cases of armed violence in Puncak Regency, including attacks on workers of the Omukia Health Center construction project in October 2023, and is also involved in the burning case of SMA Negeri 1 Ilaga.
"The Puncak Police released DK and AM because there was not enough evidence," said Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Benny.
